a moth that hypnotizes people with these wings and just reaped their souls like flowers.

This is a creature known as a Sholuflo Mnoltghs (Pronounced Show-oo-Flo Molts). Also known as a Soul Moth, a Spectral Wing, a Reaper Moth, or a Soul Flutter, these creatures are dangerous giant insects that live in various places on Urth.
The Reaper Moths start life as a large egg, about the size of a football which hatches into a caterpillar which grows to be about as big as a medium sized dog. As caterpillars, the moths tend to eat corpses of creatures that had souls, meaning they may attack humans if they have no fresh dead bodies nearby. Though they can be dangerous with their sharp pincers, they don't pose much of a threat to an armored human unless multiples hold a human down and prevent them from moving. Unarmored humans or children can be quite at risk however if a Reaper Moth Larva attacks them as their attacks leave creatures spiritually drained. They are perfectly content with eating dead things however and only hunt when starving. After they cocoon themselves however, it's a completely different story.
Reaper Moths have brilliant bio-luminescent wings that seem to dance with various patterns in a method similar to neon lights, and due to the multi colored dust on their wings that glitters from the light of their bodies, it looks like they shimmer with sparkles and grace, their wings beating silently and causing the dust to swirl in hypnotic patterns. In addition they have many tendrils that come from their back and wings and end in multi colored tips that all dance about and change colors in patterns as they flap their wings. This dust can be blinding and suffocating, and some spellcasters use it in their light and fire spells as it makes the flash of light or plume of fire much more grandiose and powerful. These tendrils pack a powerful charge of electricity and they tend to paralyze their enemies when they touch them with their tendrils after they get close.
Reaper moths also possess a stinger that releases a fluid into a creature's body that heightens their body sensitivity. Because of this it has been extracted from Reaper Moths on occasion for the sex trade, but has also been used for years by interrogators to aid in torture methods. The Reaper moth however uses it to cause electrical shocks a creature feels to be debilitating and feel as if they lasted for much longer as it also messes with their brain waves and causes them to feel as if actions are taking twice as long for a while. The Reaper Moth flutters it's wings and causes a hypnotic dizzying before it stings the creature and electrocutes it to keep it still while it prepares for it's final attack.
Reaper Moths possess a powerful proboscis which exists partially on our plane and partially on the ethereal plane, and with it they dislodge a creature's soul from it's body. It's hypnosis convinces a creature that it's their time to die and that death is the only option as it is inevitable and the creature becomes so convinced that it's soul slowly starts loosen it's grip on it's body and the Reaper Moth steals it away and consumes the life force. The creature will then stand there as a soulless husk until it dies of hunger or thirst, or if it gets it's soul back from the creature (Though it must be quick as the soul's energy will be used up by the moth within a few days). The Moths lay their eggs near creatures that have lost their soul so their young can feed off of the remnants of the creature's soul and grow into Reaper Moths themselves.
Reaper Moths do not require an entire soul to sate their needs, and so sometimes Necromancers will capture and keep Reaper Moths, using their magic to steal away the remainder of the soul after they have drawn it out, all the while collecting spell components regularly from the Moths. Reaper Moths tend to not bother creatures with no soul, however soulless creatures whom attack or harm the moth will be attacked violently with the stinger, the tendrils and the scythe like front legs it possesses. Reaper Moths are incredibly rare, though it's thought that they were once much more plentiful. These magic creatures are said to hail from the same dimension as the shinigami, and it may be because of these ancient creatures that Butterflies are associated with the human soul.
On Urth, the Reaper Moths can be found on occasion in the great forests, but more often than not one may be found in areas of great tragedy, where many have recently died..
