Since the release of Anubis, I’ve been pouring time into the farm gameplay system. It’s still in an early state, barebones for now, but it lays down the foundation for much bigger features to come.
Visitor System
Randomly generated NPCs will now visit the town.
Visitors stay for 2 days by default, but each interaction extends their visit (up to a week or longer).
If a visitor grows fond of you, you can even convince her to stay as a permanent NPC just like the townies.
Hire NPCs as Farmhands
NPCs can now apply to work on your farm! Applicants are randomized in stats, looks, and experience.
Prefer someone familiar? Townies and visitors can also be hired (with a few exceptions, like shop clerks).
Farmhand Roles
Assign specific tasks to your farmhands. Each job affects your farm differently.
Some roles are still conceptual, so if you’ve got ideas, I’d love to hear them!
Basic Farming Gameplay
Buy pots and stalls to expand your farm’s productivity.
Currently features 5 types of crops and two animals.
And—I can’t wait to see your reactions! For the pedigree cow in the game.
I’ve likely added more minor features that slipped my mind (short-term memory, oops), so you may find a few surprises in this build.
This is only the first step, but over the coming months, these systems will flesh out into something much more engaging!! Much hotter!!
