March 2025 Update

Helloooooo again all! Lots to talk about this month, so I'm just gonna jump into it lol

First of all, gonna probably break my biweekly upload schedule for this week, since Carnival celebrations and a family trip are probably gonna wipe out a chunk of my time due to being afk or dealing with more irl things.

Aside from that, a big thing I've been thinking about for a while has been changing up my patreon tiers and rewards again. Part of it is driven by the fact this is basically my job at this point, and the other is the sheer amount of them I do every month. Add to that the fact my 'sketches' have basically just become full lineart at this point, and I definitely feel like I've needed to make a change for a long time now.

Also as people on the discord know, I've been making a lot of progress with YCHs/templates for drawing, basically repurposing the same poses or pic setups as a way to streamline things a bit based on patron requests, in addition to my usual fully custom drawn stuff, and I've been trying to think about a way to do something with that too, as well as trying to balance how to fit in multi-character stuff.

Plus, I hate to admit it, but I think I've kind of grown to not like doing sequence-type stuff anymore, at least not super involved ones with a lot of changes and moving parts. They come out really well, but it's just not really something I can fit into this work model I've been going with. That and they just plain don't feel as 'fun' to do anymore, if that makes sense. Simpler ones tho, with like, face changes and smaller scale stuff is probably totally fine tho, at least from my experience testing it out.

Any changes I do make though, probably won't affect the highest and lowest ends of my tiers though, what I'm most interested in adjusting is my middle tier stuff. I ran a few ideas past the discord today, and so far this is what the eventual change will look like:

$120: 10 slots full color
$90: 5 slots big sketches/multi character work/SIMPLE sequences (single character image with variations)
$50: 5 slots lined/YCH options (5 slots to start, might expand later if it's working out)
$30: 10 slots YCH only from any of my existing templates
$10: unchanged
$7: unchanged
$5: unchanged

Still no idea when I'd implement these changes, or if this is what they'd finally look like when I do, but as is tradition, wanted to put the idea out there with plenty of advance notice for everyone to see and discuss XD

I thought things were going pretty smoothly otherwise, but having to replace my main PC monitor as well as my tablet screen this month with bills that wiped out like 2/3rds my paycheck has kind of hit me with the sobering thought that in case of emergencies I definitely need more of a safety net in terms of my income. Just like every past price change discussion, it still feels lousy to do, and I'm never gonna shake off the worries of pricing my work higher than it deserves, or being too 'greedy' with my suggested prices...but ultimately for the amount of work I do at the speed I deliver it, I gotta think about stuff like this too for my own sake.

I'll see what people say over the course of this month, maybe refine it a bit more, but I'll definitely give everyone a heads up ahead of time when I plan to implement these.

This heavier stuff aside though, we're still on for this month as usual! I'm really happy with how well last month's poll went, especially with the new graphic/thumbnail I made for all the choices to help people put names to faces, so I'll definitely keep that going from now on.

Polls will open on the 5th, as well as my reward requests, so for now I'll just remind people in the $7 tier and up on the discord to start making poll suggestions, and for everyone to check out the flavors when they start coming up with ideas!
