My oh my, where ever has that year gone- we all ask, stunned by the revelation that we’re becoming those people who used to groan about the office Christmas party starting after 7pm while popping another werther's into their mouth.

Truth is it’s gone fast, scarily fast, so in a bid to let you all go back to putting up those decorations I swear we just took down let’s get this sleigh on the road.

GPSR and how it'll affect shipping to the EU

So adding more hurdles to the Olympic sport being an artist has become, a new law will be coming into effect on December 13th called the GPSR.

This law will make it exceptionally difficult to sell or send items into the EU from any non-EU country. The main sticking point is that as a UK-based business, I’ll need a EU representative to act as an intermediary for anything that’s sent into an EU country. Additionally, I would need to create a technical file on product safety for everything I send. (Papercuts are right up there with lead poisoning now, apparently)

The specifics of this law are currently clear as mud, but it’s been enough to make a lot of small businesses and freelance artists halt all shipping to Europe for fear of potential penalties and fines.

Like all of them, I’m concerned and confused about how this will impact any business I conduct with any of you in the EU but I intend to find a resolution to the best of my ability to prevent any disruption.

That being said, while the details of this law remain unclear, please note the following:

If you’re in the EU and you planned to order any prints or merch from StarStickers, please do so by Tuesday 10th so I can make sure to send it ahead of the law’s effective introduction on the 13th. Any purchases made after the 13th will still be sent out eventually, but might be greatly delayed depending on how the new restrictions pan out.

Lastly, if you’re not based in a EU country none of this applies to you.

Also a reminder that all friend referrals come with bonus points for both the joiner and the patron who refers them. What this means is that if someone you know joins on, say, the 10$ tier, you will both get 10+ points on Starstickers on top of that month's regular allocation.

I know I say this a lot, but thank you for what you all do for me- for your kindness and support in a world that sometimes feels lacking in both those things. I can only hope to do my best to give some of that back to you all in return.
