2022-23 Commission List

Hello my lovelies. I’m sure you’ve been waiting for this list with baited breath and clenched buttocks and now, I’m here and pleased to present it to thee.

Before that though- heck, stick ‘em grabby lil’ hands in your pockets for a moment- a few notes to preempt the expected questions:

• There was an initial selection based on the criteria established in the info post; everyone who qualified within those parameters was given a slot within the first four batches. After that, this final list was ordered according to my calculations on complexity and feasibility within each time frame.
• The first four batches are comprised of 9 slots each. Everyone in these will be contacted 3 at a time within their timeframe (May-July, August-October, November-Jan, Feb-April), approximately 2 weeks before starting on their piece, to confirm details, ideas and references, as well as to sort out StarStickers tokens and payment. Basically, you will not have to pay anything up to the point when I’m 1-2 weeks away from working on your project.
• All timeframes are a (fairly optimistic) estimation of what I can manage to do in that time. That said, alongside commissions I am also working on 5-6 rewards per month via StarStickers. This means that, despite my best intentions and hardest work, it’s possible, based on previous experience, that some batches might take longer than anticipated or extend into the timeframes for other batches. While I will do my best to keep to my schedules, understanding and patience will be extremely appreciated.

This is my largest booking so far and, I won’t lie, it’s going to take a long time to get through it. While initially I said I’d open 20 slots, my ambition here is to somehow get through all 60+ even if it takes two years. Someone get the drip ready, we’re going in headlong!

Of course I appreciate that some will be waiting for quite a while and that this might be disappointing or unacceptable. At the best of my ability though, I am just one person trying to do everything I can and, for those who choose to wait, I’ll be more than glad to try to accommodate you into the rewards or to offer you discounts via StarStickers to offset the cost of your pledge in the meantime.

As I plan how to tackle this as efficiently as possible, I’ve also decided that I will be a lot stricter with how I handle each batch: while historically I have allowed people to postpone or change their slot, as well as offered unlimited reviews and WIPs, for this opening I will be outlining much more specific terms and conditions in order to cut back on superfluous admin time that could instead go into drawing more and faster. This document is currently being reviewed and will be shared at the start of each batch to those with slots in them.

Lastly, for those on the 2023-onwards batch, please note that this part of the list is not ordered in any particular way. Once we get to the point I can start on these pieces, I will be contacting everyone on the list and resurveying them on their ideas and timeframes - meaning, anyone in this batch will have the opportunity to change their concept, as well as commission style/type, as we approach the starting date. After that, I will create a new list with a similar batch distribution to this year’s selection.

What this means, in a nutshell, is that I won't open comms again as long as there's people on this list. So you all effectively got a slot and some might have to wait a bit longer (which means you'll get better quality art because skills? so winwin?)

There’s a lot more I’d like to say or add, but I’m sure you’re itching to just get to the point and start planning, so I’ll just say a massive thank you for such an overwhelming number of applications. While I hadn’t planned to take on as many as I’m planning to, it was honestly impossible to pick concisely. You all understood the assignment and gave me your best and I genuinely struggled to make any choices at all. So, thanks for the struggles, I guess. Q_Q
