Updates // Happy New Year!!

May your 2021 be less of a raging dumpster fire than 2020 was. I must say that despite everything, last year was fairly productive for me and going full time into art proved to be the right decision- which I most definitely have all of you to thank for. You guys made such a difference to my life last year and I can’t wait to get through this one with you all over again.

So without further gushing, please have some news and updates to get us started!

New Rewards on StarStickers!

I am very pleased to announce that I’ve introduced two new rewards into the shop- the very popular request of a Lineart Couples Bust and the new and intriguing option of a Mystery Box.

The Lineart Couples Bust is - as per the title - a piece with up to two characters in it. This is basically an extension of the single lineart bust, so the same requirements and conditions apply. The cost for this reward will be 285 points.

The Mystery Box is a lucky dip for those who are feeling brave! Basically, you may pick the character, but you cannot choose in which way they will be drawn. This means that your character might be painted as presented - using any kind of media, from traditional art to experimental digital styles - or altered to a new redesign - such as drawing them as a child, as a creature or in a completely different aesthetic style. The cost for this reward will be 225 points.

You can book these rewards from now, though please note that as per usual, all points will only be allocated after all pledges have gone through today - so please make sure your pledge is processed to get your points!

Other popular requests that will be included soon are Prints- for which I have found a supplier, though they are temporarily closed during lockdown - and Community Tutorial Pools - a slightly different reward in which multiple people will be able to chip in points up to a maximum in order to request a video tutorial for a particular art subject. As the functionality of this is a little different to the way the system works at the moment, it will have to be developed separately, so I’ll post more updates on this as soon as I have an ETA on that.

Bonus January Points

I want to thank everyone who took the time to answer my survey last month! The response was overwhelmingly positive and I couldn’t be more grateful to have such wonderful and kind supporters. I also received some good ideas and feedback that I will be compiling and carefully considering going forward this year.

So, because we got well over 50 responses (60, to be specific!), I’ll be giving everyone an extra 10 points this month on StarStickers! This will also apply to anyone who joins in the month of January, so if you have a friend who’s uhming about it, well… wave it in their face.

As with the points mentioned above, these will be applied as soon as pledges have been processed.

Pledge Anniversary Points

So this one was promised a little while ago and is now ready to be deployed: those patrons who have been pledged for a year (or more) will soon be getting bonus points to thank them for their enduring loyalty. This bonus will be a double up of their current tier (i.e, if they’re on the 10 tier, they will get their monthly allocation and 10 anniversary points) and it will be applied again for every year pledged going forward.

Although the functionality is there, my job is to manually enter the joining dates of all patrons to make sure that all points are allocated correctly. As you might guess, this is going to take a little while, so if you’ve been pledged for over a year then please expect these bonus points sometime during the month. For anyone who gets to their anniversary after January, the points will be automatically added to your account on the night of your Patreon birthday.

Personal updates

As usual, I’m still plodding along with my commission queue, pending rewards, feedback sessions, streaming sessions and getting 74% less sleep than the average joe according to this new app that I have already deleted off my phone.

I did take some time off for the holidays to catch my breath and recover after a manic year. Of course 2020 gave me a once over, snapped its fingers and was like “oh, hell no…” and so, for the last week I've had to deal with losing all the contents (so. much. art) on my working iPad as well as watching over a very sick doggy and trying not to completely unravel.

So with that being said, although I hoped to return to full productivity this coming Monday, I might need a little more time until things are settled at home. If you’re waiting for a reward or commission from me, please know that I’m doing my best to bunch up my hems and wade through this swamp, but it might take me a few more days to pick up my full pace.
