Mili - Through Patches of Violet // Reaction & Analysis

Major spoilers for Limbus Company Canto 6 below, you have been warned. You are fairly close with your analysis and understanding of the lyrics, but one big difference is that Heathcliff and Catherine, the two individuals singing in this boss theme, are both desperately in love with one another but never manage to properly explain that. A bunch of tragedy ensues as both of them make personal decisions as to what would make the other happy without consulting each other until they reach the breaking point. Catherine decides to marry a wealthy man to be able to support and boost up Hethcliffs life, but he doesn't see it that way and leaves, breaking Catherine's heart and more tragedy ensues. Eventually both Cathy and Heath come to the conclusion that they are the primary or sole cause of the other's suffering, and that the other would be much happier had they never met. So an alternate reality Heathcliff starts reality hopping and killing other Heathcliffs across the multiverse. A different Catherine comes to the same conclusion and starts overwriting and deleting other Catherine's. The two converge in the same world in the game and we have to fight both of them, in the end, the Heath and Cathy from our world realize far too late just how much they love each other, and to save our Heathcliff, Catherine uses the games McGuffin to Clear All Cathy from the multiverse as if they never existed. It's the first chapter since chapter 1 where we have ultimately failed in our goal and had an overall negative conclusion to a chapter. Sorry for the all-over-the-placeness of my comment, I wrote this during my Lunch break at work. In the actual fight we start by only hearing Heathcliffs side of the song(the deeper side) and then it swaps to just Catherine's side, before ending with both like what you heard here. I also have a personal theory that the line "The message has already been said through patches of Violet" refers to the message of their true feelings. In the game, the region thay are in is sapped of color by the Corp in charge of the district, but the rich can buy back certain colors. Cathy payed to have her favorite flower that grows outside her mansion be their natural color. Her favorite flower being the Heath. Anyway. Sorry for the wall of text. Tldr; Limbus Lore is Tragedy, and this story and boss fight theme are based on the book 'Wuthering Heights'
