Nier Duo project first look incoming!

Hello my Sweethearts!

How are you doing? How is the weather at your place?
After a relatively very warm/hot year I almost forgot how it is to shiver from the cold. Sudden frost came and caught everyone off guard. The most interesting thing to me is the fact, that weather feels very different from place to place. For example -23C here feels like -30C and even colder, because of high humidity. On the bright side this kind of weather is rare here, so from tomorrow it’ll be around -3C - +4C. As far as I heard from my friends from Europe, the winter there is similar to what we have here. )
I’ve already talked about this in the past, but it’s still the subject of wonder for me.
It was fun to feel the real winter for a few days, but I think that’s enough. Especially for my lovely doggo who’s freezing too much. )
I hope the rest of the winter will go without such sudden surprises.

No further ado let me finally show you the first look of Nier Duo project. 2B and 2P teamed up to show the world who protects them from “evil” alien machines. You know, stylish propaganda.
I wanted this project to resemble a magazine style fashion photoshoot, because it suits the theme the most. Show your “force” in style, so the young generation will be hooked.
I asked our Tao to incorporate this visual idea in post-production and I think he did a really great job.
There was one point we discussed a lot during post-production.
In classic fashion photography, when the project features two models in one shot, makeup artists and retouchers make the skin tone of both models look even. It’s done, because different colored skin creates visual distortion and pulls away the attention from the clothes.
Our models have a slightly different skin tone, 2P more tanned, 2B more pinkish pale.
At first I wanted to come to the magazine style as close as possible. But Tao had an argument that we’re dealing with “live” characters, in their case different models of androids. And it would be logical for them to look slightly different in design, aside from obvious the color of clothes and hair.
After some thoughts and tries, we decided to go with Tao’s suggestion. In the end it also added to models individual character. But I’ll talk about it somewhere in a future post.
