My wife discovered a concept last year. She's always hated resolutions - they always seem so weak. We started talking about what we wanted our year to look like and the main focus quickly became minimizing. But that concept has is too big and has too many touch points to be considered a "resolution." So she said it's really a "revolution" that we are having. A revolution against the machine that prompts us to buy more stuff we don't need. All of the sudden, we had a much bigger concept to work within. The revolution to minimize manifest in the following ways: no buying clothing for all of 2019, clean out all paper files, reduce streaming services to just what we use, sell a rental property and pay off our house, donate or sell everything we don't use, scrutinize every little thing that comes into the house, eliminate gift giving and receiving....and on and on. It's been a miraculous year of change. We are now moving into a new phase of the revolution - simplify and get the hell out of suburbia!
