I loved this conversation; I haven't listened to the minimal episode, but if it conveys any fraction of the same message, it is definitely something that most of the world needs to hear. The bit about race was a good point of discussion in today's context as well. Joshua, I hope your health has improved since this recording, but judging by the most recent podcasts it sounds as though you're doing a little better 😊. My take on positive thinking in a crisis is that when I experience such a crisis (and I definitely have, about 5 years ago I was housebound for several months, and I still have an extensive list of limitations) is a call to action for me to reevaluate my current practices and ways of thinking, but not necessarily assigning value judgements to them (like "why me, this is so horrible"). Not that those thoughts never arise, but I make an effort to not give them any purchase. I practice Zen Buddhism, and I relate this to the practice of equanimity. Have a great day y'all ♥️
