I recently saw a TED talk online that says one-third of our food ends up in the garbage ( http://t.ted.com/ZZCStkP). Lately, I have been trying to pack my lunch almost everyday and only eat out occasionally on weekends. I think buffet and big chain restaurants contribute immensely to waste. When I grocery shop, I also go with a list but I may have a "general veggie" category and I eyeball 3 days of veggies for me and my husband. I try to pick some of the "uglier" but fresh veggies that people are afraid to choose. Not sure if I am making an impact, but I try to do as much in my own corner of the world. :)

Did I hear correctly, Ryan is vegan? What's is your opinion about the idea that in a grand scheme of things some of our food choices and ingredients might be causing devastating impact on the environment? And what's the best way to minimise it?
