Julia Belt
Added 2018-06-29 06:49:03 +0000 UTCHello everyone! Anime Expo is coming up SO fast and I've got all engines running to get all my work done for both my sister and I. As you know, I'm going as Faye Valentine for the 20th anniversary of Cowboy Bebop. Since my sis will be adventuring with me all the days of the convention, I want us to match as much as possible! So, she will be the Julia to my Faye.
Above is an image of the unpainted belt I cut and carved out of EVA foam. This was made from a 1/4" EVA foam mat from Harbor Freight. I used a dremmel tool to sand and shape the foam. After I got the correct amount of depth and curves, I used a heat gun to heat seal and she the foam around my hips.
This is the fully completed belt! Painted and all. I heat sealed the foam and then painted it over in black Plasti-Dip as a primer. After it dried, I used a chrome paint and dusted it over the black. Last thing to do was sew on the elastic.

Love this idea, and you have officially made me sad that I will be nowhere near this. I expect lots of cool photos of your adventures there with your sister!
