Added 2024-03-13 14:34:59 +0000 UTCWas taking my mom to the airport this morning and we encountered a wreck. Been sitting with the car off now for over 3 hours. The weird thing is, aside from the news that there's been one fatality, there's absolutely nothing about this online. The whole southbound highway is shut down, and there's cops at the back of the line ticketing anyone who makes a break for the last exit. Even stranger, my GPS is showing free flowing traffic and no slowdowns. It's weirding me out that in the 4 hours since the shutdown occurred, they have no updates, and no lane opened. We've already peed on the side of the highway twice. This is crazy.

I hope you made it through okay and got mom to the airport okay. I imagine she missed her flight but was able to catch another with out to much delay.
