Added 2023-12-24 21:32:38 +0000 UTCFound a bridge to get under, Josh caught one little fish and tossed it out on a bigger hook as bait. About 4 beats after it smacked the water, here came the pelican from somewhere above us. Josh had to reel it in while I climbed down, but it was a 2 person job. We feel so bad for the poor bird, but when he realized we were trying to free him, he was quite calm.
There is a choppy video. When the bird took off, I had my phone in my hand, since I'd just taken Josh's picture.
As soon as we realized what was happening though, I threw it to my cousin. I'll get that posted later tonight.
I am afraid to ask what's next. It's time for a drink.
