high water

The river did go about 2 feet higher after this was filmed, and overall has dropped nearly 14 degrees, from 78 to 62.5. Chilly for July! Needless to say fishing has become a losing battle on this river and if things don't pick up in the next few weeks, we will be considering going back to the Green. Barren is more convenient to home, but being half the depth or less of the Green and a third the width, it doesn't handle runoff or storms very well.
We did have the higher water when Josh and Murphy went for their swim, and we were at a different ramp with a faster current. This video was filmed before that fiasco, so you can rest assured that the dogs won't have quite so much freedom as we move forward with boat rides and river swims! A million thanks to all who wished the two of them well afterwards!
