Now we all know that most professional cosplayers diet. I'm no exception to the rule, however, I don't subscribe to starving myself either. Here's a little BTS of how I work to stay fit and healthy for my cosplays! What you see in the pic above is a NY Strip Steak salad on a bed of organic artisan greens. I've said before (early in the game) that I like to cook. Well, one of the main reasons why that is (other than it's relaxing) is because home cooked meals are the healthiest and heartiest you can get. As the chef you know exactly what you put in your food and where it comes from. For instance, I buy all organic produce (when available) and grass-fed, free range, meat. Most everything I buy for my pantry, I read about before purchasing. There are so many food products out there that are bad for you or just downright dangerous to put in your body. Just a little studying up on nutrition can help prevent this! Once you learn what's good, you'll breeze through the supermarket like it's no big deal. Here's four healthy tips for a when you're at the supermarket: 1. Spend most of your time in the produce section (you can find pretty much everything you need right there!). Don't forget to buy organic and locally grown foods! 2. Olive oil, sunflower seed oil, and grape seed oil are all better friends to you than butter. Cook with those instead! 3. Organic, grass fed, free-rage chickens and cows are 1000% more healthy for you to consume AND the animal lives a happier life. No growth hormones for this cosplayer! 4. Check your labels! Anything with high fructose corn syrup, fructose, corn syrup, or soybeans (as second or first ingredient) are going to slow your metabolism and have more sugar. Stick to REAL sugar products instead. (Corn syrup is like our generations Soylant Green and doesn't exist in my diet!)
