Sun Jae definitely didn't kill himself in the original timeline. Someone was knocking on his door when he was on the balcony in the first episode. There are other parts of this reaction where I think you're confused about the timeline 😭 They caught the criminal right after he attacked Sol in the original timeline. Things changed the second time around when she was saved and he wasn't caught. That's how the criminal was able to kidnap Sol and attack Sun Jae at the abandoned building (and was then caught). Then after being released is when he attacks Sun Jae again at the hotel. I never finished this drama so I'm rewatching it here, but I'm pretty sure this is the correct order of events

Him saving her makes the bad guy seek him out in the future for revenge because he interfered. Also when she looked at the watch and said its the last time it means that it has one final charge so she cant reset anymore.
