I wholeheartedly agree with you, Javi! These two does give that 'I am in a loving relationship" realness! Well, Xun An did day he say: "With this cuff, you wouldn't be able to run away" when he gave Bai Lang that bracelet, so... they kinkily claimed each other! LOL
The painful sacrifice that Xun An paid for love, acceptance and family. I felt his pain.
When Javi said "she hasn't met the woman of her dreams, yet" I fell on the floor laughing, because he isn't gonna see what's coming.

I love that you're enjoying this often overlooked show! And that you appreciate the overwhelming chemistry of the 2 leads. Like you said, its subtle but to viewers, its obvious how comfortable they were filming together. All BL's should take a lesson.

Not excusing the whole abuse thing, but I think it's cultural - like, you see it in so many Chinese movies and dramas where a character (usually son or daughter asking something from a parent figure) wants something so badly & passionately that they kneel all day to get it, or suffer other types of abuse, in order to prove that they are actually serious and it's not just a whim or whatever. I hate this bit of this series, but everything else is pretty amazing, and like Javi mentioned a few times, the relationship feels very realistic and natural, so I am willing to forgive the whole storyline of dad "testing" the son's resolve with beatings & letting him kneel all night & stuff like that... it feels too medieval and cruel to me, so I wish it wasn't part of this story, but the rest of the series is my favourite & is really cute and feel-good. I love the main couple so much!
