I really wish they had done one more season so we could see all the consequences of this change but it was a nice ending anyways, I loved tagging along for the ride!

2024-05-12 18:02:11 +0000 UTCThere are all sorts of wonderful details in this episode, including the fact that both Wille and Simon say “I love you” to each other at the end of the episode, after Wille saying at the end of season one and Simon saying it at the end of season two. I think all three seasons were strong, even though season two was probably the most angst-filled, which maybe makes it harder to like. And I think there’s a strong arc for all five of the principal characters, most notably for August, who could easily have been a caricature of a villain, but ends up being much more nuanced. The scene between him and Wille during the party is one of my favorites. Overall, a really terrific finale to a strong series.

2024-05-12 14:43:29 +0000 UTCI loved that shot where August was placing the king chess piece on the board as he was telling his mates “I’m Wille’s backup” 💋🤌🏽 The details are stunning Javi you hit it right on the nose about monarchies being a facade; it’s one of the ideas the writer wanted to highlight. I mean, look at the Royal Uk family 🙈 Lmao they’re not “brothers”, they’ve trauma-bonded with self-inflicted trauma. Truly toxic group, especially the boys. “How the hell can it be over between us, can’t we just keep on fighting?” 😭 omg ouch 😫 I think it’s not that Wilhelm’s viewpoint aligns with royal family and that they didn’t show his beliefs in the series, I think it’s a really good representation of a 16, 17 year old who hasn’t fully developed viewpoints. He’s a kid and we all go through a transition of just obeying our parents/guardians and assuming they’re doing what’s best to eventually discovering what we want for ourselves. ♥️ This is one of those rare shows that makes my heart surge where I can feel it physically at times 😂 and the freedom in that last 4th wall-break - the first time Wilhelm looks at the viewer outside his cage 🥲

It’s was so beautiful how Simon was crying out of joy that him and Whilem can finally be together freely. I got emotional when they showed their journey and how far they got to be together 🥹. This was amazing and beautiful ending to this series. I’m really going to miss this show. 🥹❤️
