You won't get any spoilers from me! i believe Teng (Wayne's character) did have a little crush on him.. he maintain that candy habit after that first meet, but the trauma this episode caused me. I needed therapy, and each time I rewatched it, I reenter the trauma loop. ZeRui's family is a big wig, and even though he doesn't care ZeRui , he has a family reputation to protect afterall. Just remember that story ZeRui told Zongyi about his family.

It also tells a little bit about why Wayne didn’t kill Rui. Actually, it is the Fan family that wants to see and attacks the tall kid in prison. They want to protect Rui’s —but mainly their own—reputation and care little to nothing for Rui. Rui is the illegitimate son of the Fan family.
