2022-12-15 14:47:59 +0000 UTCThen there's me appreciating the fact they used their budget on the amazing wigs and not the special effects pfffttt. Too many Chinese dramas have awful wigs where you can tell it's just hair extensions clipped onto their actual hair and it annoys me the whole show

2022-09-28 22:02:56 +0000 UTCAlso I’m not completely sure about this but I think using Lan Zhan and Wei Ying are for people extremely close to them (which is why you’ve heard them both refer to each other as that) so you won’t really hear others referring to them as those, but as Lan Wangji/Hangugangjun and Wei Wuxian/Yiling patriarch. If someone does refer to them as the first name and is not close to them in any way, it’s to disrespect them.

2022-09-28 01:31:21 +0000 UTCYay! I didn’t have hope you’d pick this up because it was 2nd in the poll but I’m so glad you did! The first couple of episodes are a little confusing, but then they’ll start filling the story in and it’ll start making sense and you’ll eventually learn the characters names and how they’re linked together. But it usually feels a little overwhelming for everyone at the beginning lol.

Might add as we go along: Wei Ying (courtesy name: wei wuxian, also known as the yiling patriarch in this episode): our main gremlin lead. He gets summoned by mo XuanYu in order to take his body to enact revenge on his family. Lan zhan (Lan wangji, hanguang-jun): the love interest, all the little lans love him, always in white. Jiang cheng (jiang wanyin): as you remembered wuxian’s kinda adoptive brother, the one who stabs him at the start. Onto the little Lan disciples (the ones who wear white with the forehead ribbon and who go to exterminate the evil in the mo village): Lan yuan (Lan sizhui): cute little cinnamon roll who defended wuxian against the mo’s Lan jingyi: his sassy best friend, the most un-Lan Lan to have ever lanned 😂 Those are the only ones so far that are important!

2022-09-27 23:17:52 +0000 UTCJavi Wei Wuxian really died but he was brought back to life by Mo Xuanyu through a ritual because Mo Xuanyu wanted to seek revenge on the people that maltreated him while he was alive. He gave his life in return for Wei Wuxian to come back to life. And so Wuxian has as OBLIGATION the task to kill the people who did Mo Xuanyu wrong. THREE people died. The wicked aunt, cousin and aunt's husband. When they transformed into puppets, they died. And that's why the three scars on Wuxian's forearm disappeared. He has one more person to kill for the fourth scar to heal. Only people from his past life (16 years ago) can recognize him. Especially without his mask. The Gusu disciples who came to get rid of the evil spirit could not know who he was because they were most likely very young 16 years ago.

2022-09-27 22:39:50 +0000 UTCYes Mo Xuanyu was the person who sacrificed his body to bring back Wei Wuxian so he’ll take revenge for him. So Wei Wuxian is in Mo Xuanyu’s body. Anyone who doesn’t know Wei Wuxian (how he looked), won’t know will think it’s Mo Xuanyu, however, if any that knows him see him without the mask, they’ll know it’s him. Now everyone in this place, doesn’t know what Wei Wuxian looked like (I mean they heard of him but there were no portraits to describe what he looked like).

Also, when you’re done with this, I’d recommend to read the book, it’s a straight up BL and very entertaining, also have more details
