Hira definitely had intrusive thoughts this episode, and Kiyoi does seem to have some personal issues going on but we’ll see what it is soon.

2022-02-16 23:46:05 +0000 UTCThey are both so messed up. I actually really like that this show is not trying to create something idealistic. It's two messed up people trying to navigate life. I love how perceptive you are. I appreciate that you aren't just dismissing the story as toxic. I mean don't get me wrong they have toxic traits but the story itself is really interesting. I have watched this 4 times now and every time I notice something new. The subtly of these actors is really amazing. I think really broad performances tend to get all the praise but these main leads are telling multiple stories at once just through facial expressions. It's wild.

2022-02-16 15:05:30 +0000 UTCRight after Kiyoi says "don't use it for anything weird”, the subtitle says “without asking” but he actually asks “did you jack off (thinking about me)?” That’s why Hira answers he only did it once (end of EP 1). Hira and Kiyoi’s relationship may seem toxic and creepy at first, but it gets better and better as the story goes on. Hira’s character development is something that truly shines later in the novel, so I hope they continue with season 2.

2022-02-16 14:33:08 +0000 UTCThe Viki version adjustd some of the subs, but when Kiyoi asked about the camera, he mentioned he didn't want Hira doing anything "weird" with his photos and they cut the scene out with Hira "pleasing" himself to it. If that's why his response seemed strong that was why as Hira used it for "me time". Not sure why Viki would cut that or sub that way, but figured would add context for that part of the classroom scene.

2022-02-16 13:36:17 +0000 UTCi think the Trad in the classroom before Hira kiss his hand was wrong, in my version he ask him if he have done something weird with his pic "mastur...." that's why Hira apologize and that's why Kiyoi react this way. For me their relationship is not Toxic they just have their own way to express themself and they understand each other , Kiyoi always say creepy or "desgusting" in my version but its mean something else for him and Hira know that not a specialy bad word for him when Kiyoi say it ....
