I agree with Zaria I feel like yes it is fucked up that he didn't help Sang Tae right away but I understand why he didn't. He really has issues when it comes to his self worth and his purpose in the world because his mom always tied his worth to Sang Tae unintentionally. So obviously as a child being told 'I had you so that you could protect your brother' and his achievements not being acknowledged because of his brother would cause resentment. This issue actually goes deeper and you'll see that. So to me it made sense that he hesitated because he's human and at that moment an opportunity arose that would allow his 'wish' of his brother dying happening but instead of walking away he saved him and I think that's what's important to note here that he couldn't do it. And Ofc everyone in here is fucked up but that's what the series is about... exploring and revisiting this childhood trauma in the hopes that they all grow and become better people.

2022-02-19 20:00:56 +0000 UTCdon't cancel me but like, I can understand why gang tae would hesitate. its NOT ok, but at the same time he was young and it's easy to be jealous and resentful and project blame onto the wrong target. he felt like his life wasn't his because of his mom and older brother so like...its terrible he hesitated, but because empathy is a learned trait, he just wasn't as mature as he could've been in that department to save his brother with zero hesitation.
