Bad Buddy - Episode 9 Early Access

I’ve always had Baymax back there Bestie! Maybe I covered him with my camera angles. 😂 And yes, Tadashi is boyfriend material, I’m still sad about what happened to him! 😭

Yeah sure Bad Buddy is great and all LOL but is that cute goofball Baymax I'm peeping at the back, Bestie? Is that a new addition or have I been blind the whole time hahaha. Love him and Tadashi so so much

Oh my God, same!! My anxiety is up the whole episode as I was anticipating seeing either set of parents any moment but I love how they cushion the blow with all these cute scenes in between.

I'm not even going to talk about the episode plot that much because I just want to say that P'Aof is literally a genius. Not only him just breaking down these troupes that we always mock because he recognizes them, especially as a member of our community, but also just his direction of the actors and the cinematography. The BL's he directs always feel genuine

love this ep, and i agree with u 100%

as a gay person i've been pretty pissed about the Wai situation because being outed is a traumatizing experience. however, i saw a few people talk about how homophobia doesn't seem to exist in the Bad Buddy universe which is why pran is not as upset with Wai as we think he should be. It seems like they're treating it as though it was just their relationship which was revealed, not the fact that they date men. which don't get me wrong, it's still fucked up and this is not the only thing Wai has done wrong, he's clearly manipulative and a shitty fucking friend, but this would explain why they aren't more upset with Wai about the reveal. I guess in theory they outed them as lovers who are supposed to be rivals, not as gay. Also I have another theory that they didn't really talk about or show Kwan because they wanted to make the point that stage/screen relationships have no effect on real life. aka, pran had no reason to worry about pat playing another mans love interest because it's not real, its just for show.

i just knew pat's friends would come through yaaaas. we stan korn. also, idk if you saw this, but there was a tweet pointing out how in the scene where pran, korn and pat are in pran's room, the lights on the walls were the colors of the gay flag (next to pran), the bisexual flag (next to korn) and the pansexual flag (next to pat). no idea if it was intentional, but i thought it was a cool touch. i love this series so much, although this episode felt a little like a fever dream. the person yelling for pat in the preview sounds like his dad. ugh, how i dread the angst that is coming.

The whole not focusing on sexual preference and it not being a big deal or issue is pretty much how the reality is in Thailand, so it's good to make the series align with that as well

I'm so glad that even the drama episodes give us lots of cute scenes! I don't know if I could survive a pure drama episode without that!

Yeah, I'm still on the 'f*ck Wai' agenda. Unless he truly apologises for what he did. Also, I love how this show keeps subverting well known BL tropes. Too bad, we all have to wait for two weeks to watch EP10. They already announced that they are skipping New Year's Eve 😭 Time to rewatch from EP1 (again), I guess. 😅

If you think about it, it seems like sexual preference doesn’t seem to be an issue in the Bad Buddy universe… Maybe that’s why outing them in terms of sexual preference isn’t really a big issue. Maybe the whole conflict of Wai and Pran revolved around the issue of outing them as a couple. Which is why the whole thing focused on the feeling of Wai being so hurt and Pran had to go out of his way to apologize for lying to him. I mean I still considered what Wai did as a pretty “malicious” act and he still had to ask for an apology for it, but I think the weigh of Pran’s fault lying to him this whole time and not telling him about it was a lot hurtful than his impulsive act of “dropping the curtains”.

Karlchen

Pran literally took responsibility and was mature enough to apologize for doing what he did, lmao. He knew he was in the wrong but where was Wai's apology? Also, it was the fact that Wai could have been mature himself enough to hold in his anger and confront Pran about it in private but Wai is the definition of someone who doesn't think before doing something and it resulted in outing PatPran just when Pran was starting to feel comfortable with telling people so it's not fair to just blame Pran in this.

I have an unpopular opinion but Pran actually lie all the time to Wai about who is was just like the hatred against Pat had been teached by Pran to Wai. I hate when people don't think by using only their feeling. Pran has a certain level of responsability to take. It always easy to assume than Pran is the goody goody guy and all the world is against him bla bla bla... Manicheism is such an easy way to not think and assume.
