I read on Twitter that when they first meet Nubsib says that he is Sib and everybody also calls him just Sib, so that could be another reason for not recognizing him because Gene connects „Sib“ with his childhood. Another thing is the moments before they kiss, because Nubsib says: „I want you“ but in reality in Thai he literally says: „ I want to f*ck you“. That’s why Gene is so shocked 😂😂

2021-04-08 07:51:02 +0000 UTCtbh, I kinda related to Gene in that I also have a childhood friend whom I haven't met for at least 10 years, and for the life of me I could not remember his full name or even how he looked like when we were young. He reconnected with me on facebook recently and said that he still has feelings for me (which was a total shock since we were not Gene-Nubsib kinda close), much to my surprise because I see him as a complete stranger hahaha. Like Gene and Sib, our parents are close friends , but I really didn't bother LOL. Anyway, I am rambling, what I wanted to say is that it is completely possible for someone like Gene to forget/not recognize a childhood friend, and for someone like Sib to remember his childhood friend vividly. In the words of Queen Elizabeth, recollections may vary LOL PS I also hate Aoey and agree with everything you said about him 😂😂

It almost felt like they wanted their moments when they were younger to read as romantic. 🤨 Also, the scene where Gene is playing with the dragons and not letting Nubsib play felt a bit out of character to me because he seemed too old to act that way or even play that way. But who knows. He’s a writer after all, so his imagination was probably always running wild. 😂

2021-04-08 02:44:07 +0000 UTCYeah, Gene definitely looked at Nubsib as a younger brother back then. The show did make it feel slightly weird though. I think the kiss thing was a kiss on the cheek, because he was pointing to his cheek. Which I think can be innocent between two people with the age difference since Gene looked at him as a little bro. I think there were no feelings from Gene back then. And the reason Nubsib lied is because Gene would only look at him in the eyes of a little bro. I think they also mentioned in the last episode Nubsib using a different last name, because his dad doesn't want him to act. So, Gene probably thought it was a coincidence I think.
