This story line is utterly ridiculous and the character's actions make no sense. So I'm suppose to believe that Shu Yi flew thousands of miles from Taiwan to America and just because he saw She De in a park with some woman and baby he flew all the back to Taiwan without even speaking to him about it. Then, Shi De flew all the way from America to Taiwan to speak with Shu Yi about it and just because Shu Yi's father intercepted him and disapproved of their relationship Shi De flew all the way back to America without even speaking to him, and then 5 years go by and neither one has gotten over it or moved on, and we still don't know who the woman and baby are and why Shi De didn't return after 3 months like he was suppose to. Wow, what great story telling (NOT)! I have had enough!

2024-03-26 14:08:05 +0000 UTCYes I think you have the timeline right Wendy , I also I think Shu Yi’s Dad accused Shi De of of breaking the promise at the end of last weeks episode because it has not yet been 5 years since he made that promise but it has been 5 years since Shi De initially left for the US. 5 years since Shu Yi had seen him. In one of the messages Shi De sent to Shu Yi he mentioned that something had happened and that he needed time to explain it and asked Shu Yi for time for him to explain. Presumably that something involved the medical issue? But of course we are all still waiting to hear what actually happened. Communication! communication !Communication! The lack there of can be frustrating but I am certainly looking forward to the beautiful resolution I am sure we are going to have. I think you are right Javi some progress has been made . Roll on next week💜

2021-03-22 09:57:51 +0000 UTCThe timeline - roughly - is that Gao Shi De went to the USA as planned but stayed longer than he said he would (maybe because of his mum and baby Oscar - that would certainly fit the year long time frame before he returned). During those 12 months it was stated that Shu Yi completed mandatory military service (which lasts, coincidentally, 12 months). After this he flew to the USA to see Gao Shi De, but saw him with that girl and the baby. It's my belief that this is why Shu Yi's father forced Shi De into that promise (and why he's so angry with him - remember, he made reference to Shi De "going with blondes" in the US, and told him to go find a girl to marry and have a family with). Shu Yi's father saw how upset his son was and wanted Shi De out of his life. The conversation between them in the bar backs all this up. Shu Yi's dad was more angry at Shi De for betraying his son than because of their relationship. When Shi De returned to Taiwan initially, after 12 months away, he was intercepted by Zhou Shu Yi's dad (at the beginning of this episode Shi De was on the phone to who he thought was Shu Yi, but Shu Yi's dad had his phone and it was he who Gao Shi De was speaking to). Shi De met with Shu Yi's dad, the deal was struck, and Shi De returned to the US and didn't comunicate with Shu Yi for 5 years, as promised (the "5 years later" started from this point if I remember correctly from the end of series 1). This is how I understand it. Also,, Gao Shi De is an idiot.
