I think similar to you that with prostitution (and also with drugs actually) making it legal means it’s safer and regulated for the people that will do it either way. I do think things like pimping is obviously different and that shouldn’t be legal and should probably fall under sex trafficking. I really liked the way Addison handled this initially. She was initially a bit judgemental and worried with it which i do think is a bit understandable, but she was supportive and helpful even so. But then she gives up on her and leaves her with no support system. You’re right. Is someone that works on a building site for example not selling their body? If that wasn’t regulated to need hard hats, safety equipment etc. that would be way more dangerous than being a prostitute I think. Or an even better example would be a sportsperson especially things like Boxing or MMA etc. They end up with insane long term health implications from getting hit in the head etc. even with the regulations around it. How is that not more dangerous and how is that not literally selling their body?

The only place in the US that prostitution is completely legal is in certain areas of Neveda (not Las Vegas area). In 2023, Maine adopted legislation that partially decriminalized prostitution by making the act of selling sex legal for sex workers, but kept the act of buying sex illegal for customers (known as the "Nordic model"). So the person paying the money is the only one that can be punished. As far as how I feel about legalizing prostitution. As long as the women are doing of their own free will and accord and it is regulated to ensure the safety of all concerned. I feel, Its his/her body and therefore their choice. In the US even phone sex for money is illegal. Land of the free my ass. IN the end if you legalize it, regulate it, ensure protection and healthcare, and remove the stigma, it's just another service industry. People pay money recieve pleasure at a restaurant, chiropractor, movie theater as well as other places. Should all these professions be illegalized. It's because of puritan ethics saying that to recieve pleasure from sex is a sin. That sex should be for procreation only. That's why this industry over others should be illegal. That kids insulin pump switched sides on his abdomen.
