Update!!

Well I had/have influenza.

After a very calm and peaceful week off I was hit with influenza (not sure if a or b, took at home test).

I genuinely felt terrible because I had just taken a week off and now I had to take more time off to get better. I kept thinking, well luckily I don't have a lot to record for the week (it's a slow week) so as long as I'm better by the weekend I should be able to get it all done.

Saturday came and I had literally lost my voice. I think this is the first time this has ever happened to me. (I think I also posted a video in the Discord on Thursday? of how my voice was sounding). - to be honest, I did this because I was paranoid that people didn't believe me that I was sick lol. Not that anyone gave that impression, just my brain doing its thing.

Do you know how hard it is for someone who has always been classed and called chatterbox to lose her voice!?!?! I literally wanted to scream, but couldn't. I felt like I was swallowing knives all week.

On Tuesday when I recorded Greysverse & Gotham, I noticed a bit of a cough during the recording.

Wednesday I was hit hard, my throat was sore felt like I was swallowing knives and my bones in my legs felt really uncomfortable. Closest comparison would be growing pains but not as painful, just enough to be annoying to try to sleep. I went to the doctors immediately to get medication and they basically told me to take Neurofen and Panadol and started me on tablets that would stop the severe symptoms (which I guess worked? because I didn't get any severe symptoms).

Thursday was where my throat hurt the most. I think my legs were feeling better, it was just the coughing and the sore throat. I tried to sleep as much as possible while taking like all these meds, I had a panic attack at some point and took some diazepam which knocked me right out.

Friday I had other... side effects. I went to the doctors and they gave me more medication and some antibiotic and recommended dry cough medicine. I have been chugging that since lmao. Two giant gulps. Every time I tried to speak I would lost some words and have to repeat them because I feel like I was losing reception lol.

Saturday, my voice wasn't so sore but I lost it again midway through the day so that was fun. This was when I felt the most defeated. I was suppose to be better by now.

Sunday I was actually feeling a bit better. My throat wasn't sore but I was still coughing a lot and my voice was still very croaky. I however, looked at my house and it was a FUCKING NIGHTMARE so I finally had the energy to clean that which made my mental health a bit better. I am feeling nauseous though.

And then we come to Monday for me, it's Monday now. My voice is a little croaky, It doesn't hurt to swallow but I am coughing a lot still. I am also feeling quite nauseous though. I don't usually start recording until tomorrow (Tuesday) so here's hoping I feel better tomorrow but if I feel like this, I think I'll just record anyway I'll just sound a little weird. And there may be some coughing, so sorry on your ears lol.
