I saw the alert on my phone that these reactions dropped, then I saw the episode numbers listed & it hit me that we are at the end of this journey & it made me sad that it was ending. It's such a shame that Amazon hadn't gotten their act together & made some new Stargate by now. Hopefully with the new leadership, they can finally get moving forward. I was disappointed when Universe ended. It was the start of Syfy mismanaging things & making bad choices, season had been moved off Friday nights where they aired Stargate since they picked up SG-1 for season 6. If I remember correctly too they barely advertised the show during season 2 which that plus the day of the week change caused ratings to go down for season 2. Syfy was starting to change from ScFi to Syfy & the new leadership at the time wanted to move away from Sci-Fi stuff so they lost interest. The same bad decisions also affected the Battlestar Galactica spinoff Caprica. They barely advertised that show too & even switched air days halfway during the season so it never made it past season 1

They definitely could have advanced enough in 2000 years to build that city. Look how much we have advanced in 2000 years, and they have a big head start in that they have all the knowledge of the destiny crew to begin with 2000 years ago. The issue I see is genetic diversity. It’s generally held that to prevent issues with excessive inbreeding, a society needs at least 500 people to start a civilization, and even then breeding pairs would have to be strictly chosen to maintain a diverse mix of genetic stock. I believe Destiny only had about 80. Plus, another 20 or so from the Lucian Alliance.
