I get what you're saying about them skipping the fallout of Joel getting killed but I don't think we have seen the last of him on the show. They will likely do flashbacks and show how emotional it was for Ellie, not just since his death but also in the 5 years since arriving back in Jackson. I don't know this for sure but it just makes sense. I think the guy stuck up for Ellie, not out of guilt for what he said to her but because he knows that if it was one of his own, he wouldn't hesitate to do what Ellie is doing. It is kind of disappointing that Tommy isn't joining on hunt, because it was his brother. But he does have the town and his wife to think about. I guess Ellie doesn't feel as tied to them as she was to Joel. I hope you continue this and that the May episodes get selected as well.
