House Of The Dragon S02E07 - The Red Sowing FULL REACTION

Jace is right. Everybody knows he is a bastard but are told they are wrong. The only thing that makes them second guess that narrative is he has a dragon. When he ascends to the throne there will be pushback (less if he proves himself to the people) but he will most likely become king because the narrative is he is the trueborn son. If any bastard with valyrian blood can become a dragon rider that narrative is gone and the trueborn son will have to be king or yet again another war. Now you also have more people with dragons who can try and claim the throne (who also have silver hair which visually would give them more support than Jace). They don't know anything about these people but are giving them nukes. Hugh could easily be playing a game and switch sides because team black blockaded kings landing which meant less food and death for his kid. Ulf seems like a party boy who does what he wants and now who is going to stop him? Good goals and intentions but a bad plan.

The episode was pretty good once they started the dragon claiming scene. The show in general is a lot of politics. Many many many conversations about succession, lineage, who is fit to do this and do that and the strategies that don't unfold until episodes later. I don't mind some politics in story lines. Star Wars is a lot of politics but they manage to keep it interesting with space battles, combat and other adventures. Even this show's predecessor, GOT had a lot of politics as well but they knew when to give the audience something to cleanse the pallet. The people involved in this show seem to think that just because it's a GOT adjacent show, they can just drag things along ever so slowly and people won't be bored. So, one more episode and you will be caught up. I'm sure there will be a season 3, just don't know when. Question you can answer after the reaction if you remember - are you even interested in season 3? Are you excited for it, or could you not care less?
