2025-03-25 08:34:55 +0000 UTCAlso, regarding your comments at the end, I don't think Scully's issue is with the mere existence of extraterrestrial life, but the idea that aliens have visited earth, which IS far less likely than it existing somewhere in the vast universe.

2025-03-24 00:08:59 +0000 UTCI think there's room for some of Scully's skepticism — like, it's a pretty reasonable approach when it comes to scientific investigation. The bigger problem, and the one that makes Scully frustrating a lot of the time is that she often refuses to acknowledge that something she didn't already know or believe MIGHT be true. Even confronted with real evidence that her own assumptions may be false or incomplete, she's very hesitant to accept that possibility.
