Though Game of Thrones came just after the first series of Spartacus came out...

2024-06-12 02:16:18 +0000 UTCYep, Goth was played by Brian Thompson. He is known for always playing the bad guy. As you mentioned, he was in Buffy, he played Luke the Vampire, as well as the Judge. He also played Shao Kahn in the 2nd Mortal Kombat movie, the main baddie in a Sylvester Stallone movie and many others. I know the show is a bit silly and sexist but you have to remember, the show was made in the 90's and also was set in an older time when men basically did look at women as objects. It would be a lot worse if they didn't have any modern sensibilities at all, at least modern for the time. Also, the show aired Saturday mornings, so a lot of young kids watched it. So, it wasn't very high brow.
