> > > !!!FOR SHANNAN!!! < < < 1. You about the notes for 9x16: "Yeah not a great episode from what I can remember, hopefully this one is better" .....Welp... Considering you DM'd me mid-recording about wanting to skip 9x17 cause of the bugs ...It didn't get better ...BUT... Since you're used to watching creepy stuff these days (The Walking Dead, The Last Of Us, Ally McBeal) and haven't said no to any of those ...I wasn't gonna allow you to bish out ...DID. I push you?? ...Probably ...But in my opinion that counts as me having your back... I feel like sometimes I NEED. to give you a little nudge so that you are reminded that you are capable of doing much more than you give yourself credit for ...You managed to make it through Froots and I'm proud of you for it 2. Nope... Mitchell was saying we've found a cure to the Prior plague and we distributed it to other planets ...We DIDN'T get a win off-camera as you assumed ...But I WOULD. like to see LESS. "We think this is connected to The Ori" kind of episodes and more of SG-1 ACTUALLY. dealing with them ....So far there's been episodes where it's them THINKING. it's The Ori that's behind things ....It makes them sound paranoid ....But then again ...It also makes the threat The Ori pose more real ...Cause we don't know when they'll strike next 3. Ok another episode that I didn't really care for so I was not aware there'd be some small stuff that would need subtitles... So here's the translation Shen: "How's your Mandarin?" Daniel: "Not as good as your English" Shen: "It shows" (looks at Mitchell) "You're bringing him along?" Daniel: "We have to baby-sit him" Mitchell in English: "Yeah that's funny" ...In Mandarin: "Screw you" Mitchell did what I've always WANTED. to do back when I was driving people around ...Secretly know the language and surprise people at the end that I knew what they were talking about all along ....HOPEFULLY picking up them TRYING to shit-talk about me ...Cause in my opinion that'd make it that much more fun in the end 4. Aaaaaaand there we go ....There was someone on YouTube a while back (I sadly don't remember the exact episode) that CLAIMED. (and insisted he was right) travel between gates wasn't instant ...That it took a few minutes or whatever depending on where you'd go ....Carter LITERALLY. just debunked that by saying they were going to the Gamma Site 25 thousand light years away (that's basically 1/4th the length of our galaxy) and it would take less than 1 second to get there ...Man I wish I remembered this at the time ....Could've thrown this in there when I called the guy out on his dumbassery (That line went into the edit.. Suck it, whoever that was on YouTube!) ....Also... Less than 1 second ....That means the wormhole effect we see sometimes during the episodes doesn't really happen to the characters ...It's just a visual effect for the audience 5. Sooooooo... Exactly HOW. LONG. had this scientist dude been studying these bugs for before he decided to give them food??? ....And HOW. did they capture the bugs and put them in this containment unit??? ....I feel like it's a bit of a convenient plot development that only NOW. they find out that the bugs are carnivores 6. Eeeehmm... Whut??? ....Soooooo... These bugs just MULTIPLIED. and burst out of the containment unit ...The scientist closed the blast door and sounded the alarm ...Got BIT. ....Killed the bug and vented the other bugs ........And the next scene we just see these diplomats casually walking around talking in the hallways like this DIDN'T just all happen??? ......Why didn't they IMMEDIATELY. get sent back to Earth?!!? 7. And then the NEXT. scene this other scientist dude informs the base commander that the other guy got bit!?!?? .....The FUCK. is going on with the Gamma Site's security protocols!?!? 8. I'm at the part where you paused to DM me about wanting to skip ....I honestly was expecting it to have happened BEFORE. this ....Some soldier gets eaten OUTSIDE. the base while escorting the diplomats along with SG-1 ....But the thing that to me looked MUCH. worse was when the bugs came out of the scientist guy's mouth a couple minutes BEFORE. this ....THIS. made you want to skip the episode??? Really??? ...Softie 9. Ok that soldier is a dickhead for not informing Mitchell that he got bit ...Classic trope though ...Done to death ...BUT... You: "I don't really know why he left ...If they were already burrowing inside him.. Why would he not just stay there and combust" ......Remind me to never bring you along to an alien planet with flesh eating bugs Froots (obvious.. but still) ....You'd have STAYED. and would put EVERYONE. in danger??? ....The soldier left his post so that when he'd die those bugs wouldn't IMMEDIATELY go into the cave to look for some more things to snack on 10. Yeeeeeeaaah... There's bugs in the ground everywhere and this mothertrucker is like "I don't wanna walk anymore ...I'm just gonna sit here" ....And it takes some made-up story about "Tree Ferrets" (this planet's equivalent of Drop Bears I guess) to make him move again??? .....Dude.... Flesh eating bugs are looking to eat you alive!! .....This guy STOOPID. 11. Given your extreme skittishness when it came to this episode.. In particular the bugs which by the end of the episode we found The Ori apparently had sent to several planets ...You might be fearing the worst and think that this won't be the last time we see them and that you'll have to endure this torture again... As your right hand man I'm making the executive decision ...You have nothing to worry about ...This was a one time appearance of said bugs ....Not that there won't be OTHER. things to scare you though ...But we're not skipping those episodes either ...Enjoy

Tony

The threw a little joke in at end I'm not sure you got. When they talked about movie night seconds before end of episode, the movie Mitchel mentioned was Starship Troopers. A movie about Earth military battling space bugs.

Patrick - Excelsior

Just a heads up, you left this comment on SG-1 instead of Atlantis. :)

You can't call Colm Meaney 'some guy', he is arguably one of the bigger actors to grace the show. Momoa would out rank him in current popular culture.

This was just a mediocre episode to me, not good but not bad. I feel having the bugs be a new wave of attack to be odd. They're not subtle. The want people to worship them as gods & go out of their way to make sure you know it's them. The bugs feel more low key, plus the SGC couldn't comfirm if the Ori/priors were behind them. Their goal is not to destroy crops or destabilise people but either wow them or scare them into submitting their free will so the Priors would be bragging about this Overall it feel like someone just wanted to do a scary bug attack episode & just glossed over where they bugs came from & tried tying it to the larger story when it may have just worked better to say the bugs were native to the planet & deemed not a problem at the time of creating the Gamma Site because they ate plants.

Despite this not being the fun kind of squirming from you, I far more prefer you're aversion to sex scenes, watching you watch this has perversely made me wanna see you sit through, and probably not watch, Squirm (1976). Me, I like bug episodes shows movies- even with spiders which I'm terrified of in real life. but I just like horror in general.
