So, you know how I suck at endings?
Added 2021-08-22 23:38:51 +0000 UTCIt strikes me as I write this that I am unfortunately consistent in this area, as I am also terrible at saying goodbye. The time has come, though, for me to give up writing, and therefor to say goodbye to you, my patrons and I would like to say , my friends.
I am overwhelmed with gratitude for each of you, and your willingness to support my work. I hope I brought you some joy, some fun, maybe even a laugh or two. It has been really fun, and each time I have gotten a review for one of my books or a post here on this forum, it has been a reminder that I am not alone, that I am connected to a community of people. Good people.
Oh, boy. This is the fourth time I have started to write this, and each time I have had to stop for the tears. Writing has been a huge part of my life for many years now, and it does hurt to give it up as much as I have to give it up, at least for now. I don't know what the future holds, or where my journey will take me.
I will be shutting down the Patreon at the end of August, as well as my blogs. For now, the books I have on Amazon will remain. I may take them down one day, though, so if there are any you've been wanting to read, don't wait too long!
I do apologize for leaving a few works unfinished. It had been my intention to complete them before signing off, but I have not been able to muster the mental energy. I will remember all of you fondly, and if it is not too presumptuous I hope you will remember me fondly as well.
I am excited to be heading off to a new chapter in my life. I feel like I am standing at the brink of a strange new land, the sun rising ahead of me as I bounce on the heels of my feet, pull the straps of my backpack tight and start walking to --somewhere.
Bye for now. You are all great, wonderful people. All my love.

For me, I regularly reread my favorite stories and would still discuss about them with you, regardless if you are currently producing or not. Also, I think that there are very few good storyteller in the TG field and you are one of the best. More than that, you are a talented storyteller, all genres put together. So, you should keep your stories on line just to demonstrate that it's possible to deliver great TG stories.

2021-09-10 21:19:46 +0000 UTCI massively agree with Unilateral's suggestion. You really should keep your stories accessible to your fans and I cannot see any rational reason to shut down your Patreon neither your blog, actually. But maybe I miss something?
Alexia
2021-09-10 21:10:20 +0000 UTCMaybe I will check into that. Thx for the suggestion!

2021-08-31 02:25:57 +0000 UTCYou might consider leaving this patreon up and reduce tiers to a minimum payment (or suspend them if it's possible), just in case you do change your mind and return in the future.

2021-08-31 02:14:31 +0000 UTC... and also you like to do movies. I'm sure you will be pretty good at that. And maybe, in a couple of year, you could have a wonderful oportunity. Assume that in the near feature, we got software to make movies. I mean, allowing a lone artists to deliver a movie, without actors. They will be very easy to use (probably with embed AI). And we will have the same kind of tool to make video game. This software will probably destroy many jobs (bad news). But the good side of it is that Taylor Galen Kadee don't need anyone anymore to deliver movies. If budget and big team doesn't matter anymore, the winner has to be the more creative. And on this department, you have some advance against AI. So, I point to a blue ocean, an ocean that doesn't exist anymore. If it happens, you could be the first on the TG movie market. And it's so easier when you are the first....

2021-08-24 02:35:41 +0000 UTC... Of course, you're not in the mood to hear all that. It's a bit silly from me to expose all this stuff right now. But I have to because you threaten to shut down your patreon, your blog, and even your Amazon books. All that will fall in darkness and be forgotten... Think to your current fans. Do they deserve to loose any access to your writings? Think to all the potential fans who will never discover your writings because they won't be on the net anymore.... If you want to make a pause, or even stop for good, just let everything running. Leave the house, but let the door open. Satinminion publish rarely, with no regularity, communicate poorly or not about his/her schedule, and still he has 586 patrons... In your case, you are very honest with your patrons. And we can appreciate ourself when we will leave your page if it becomes dormant - even for a long time. But I don't think it will be for a long time. (By the way, I didn't mind about you being silent because I was assuming it was your holliday break. I was thinking you were celebrating the sun on some seaside... In my culture, it's OK to get long hollidays and it's fine...) You really have assets: tons of ideas, easy writings, able to produce a lot, always experimenting new theme or approach, and you put all your heart in your stories.

2021-08-24 02:22:31 +0000 UTCThanks. At this time my heart isn't really in it, though you did remind me there is one more TG Cooper work to be released: I wrote a script for TG Trinity which will be coming out as a comic at some point!

2021-08-24 02:00:24 +0000 UTCTo expand your audience, another possible track is to collaborate with TG artists. Particularly graphic artists. You can propose cross overs. (you write a story about an artist's character, and he deliver an illustration for one of your stories). Also, it would be nice to have you on Femur's TG fiction website. I assume he is always looking for fresh content and it's a good place to expose your talent. You could collaborate with an artist (scenario/pictures) . Or maybe have one illustrating one of your story.

2021-08-24 01:58:14 +0000 UTCNot at all. I am totally thankful for anyone who ever read one of my stories or took the time to offer feedback!

2021-08-24 01:52:45 +0000 UTCIf I were in your shoes, I would be frustrated, indeed. To reach an audience, to get feedback for your work, this is really the food of the writer. I think you could increase your audience to the level of SatinMinion (talented artist, no compromises, go his/her own way, around 500 patrons) IMO, TG artists generally go for the "free to play" business model: They display on Deviant Art or on their own website a lot of free content to build their community. Then they monetize a small part of this audience, by driving them to patreon (Satinminion, Meowwithme) or by selling them directly exclusive premium content (TG Comics, Saphirefoxx). Considering it, it seems to me you are lacking of a platform to deliver free content - a flow of free content to catch a wide audience. Note that both Meowwithme and Satinminion produce very few exclusive content for their patrons. Almost everything published on Patreon ends up as free content, and the patrons are OK with that. In your case, we have the difficulty that most of your texts are published on Amazon. But you could at least dispose of all your fan fictions (DC super heroes and Star Treck stories, published there, on your blog, and on Fictionmania).
Alexia
2021-08-24 01:51:16 +0000 UTCI guess you're sad because you don't get the audience you desserve. And as a consequence, you're lacking feedback: there should be some critical mass of people (100, 200 ?) for the comments to start to popup.

2021-08-24 01:14:04 +0000 UTCHey Taylor, don't be such a drama queen ! First, you're good at ending stories. Carolwood plot is very well crafted, very smart, and this includes the ending. Actually, you have delivered literally ton stories with very well done and sometime incredibly satisfying endings

2021-08-23 20:37:20 +0000 UTCThanks! I have no idea what the future holds and certainly won't rule out a return some day! I appreciate your kind words.

2021-08-23 20:37:05 +0000 UTCI am really going to miss reading your stories, I am glad that you choose to share your talents with us. Thanks for all your work, and good luck in the future.

2021-08-23 03:54:53 +0000 UTCI won't pretend to understand why you feel compelled to give up writing, but I'm very sad to hear it. You've consistently been one of my favorite writers in this genre, and I'll definitely miss you and your work. I confess I hope that this is merely temporary, and that you'll one day return to writing with newfound energy and confidence. You're very talented, and it would be a shame not to develop that talent further. I hope you're well. Good luck and best wishes with whatever you choose to do.
