Community Guidelines

I received a notice from Patreon this week that one or more of my posts violated their community guidelines, so I've been working to edit my old posts so that they can stay within the rules and keep my page from a suspension. Although the monthly exclusive has been finished, I don't want to release it until my page can get cleared, just to err on the side of caution. But whenever the warning is lifted, I will send a DM to everyone at the monthly exclusive tier or higher with a link to download it, even if you unsubscribe. To put it another way, if you're currently at the $15 tier, you will receive a copy of the next installment of Succubus, regardless of your subscription status in August. Sorry it has to be a little unconventional, but it shouldn't change your ability to read it since I always released them as a PDF anyways. Also, everyone at the $10 tier and up will get a copy to a short lil thousand-word roommate vore story I was going to publish too.

The problem raised was the main characters in Paradax being brother/sister, so I've edited the story so that they're no longer related. If the problem was serious enough, I think Patreon would've just shut down my account no questions asked, and evidently it wasn't even bad enough for them to take down the post right away. I was sorta under the impression that the story was fine since it's writing and doesn't involve real people, but it's been awhile since I read the guidelines and I think I mixed them up with Gumroad's.

Since there were some other stories with the same kind of relationship dynamic, I've also edited those, because even if they weren't called out in the email I received, I wanna stay on Patreon's good side, obviously. That being said, the scenes themselves are still the same, it's just the characters that have changed. In other words, there isn't any issue (afaik) with the content, like the actions of the characters; the site obviously allows adult-oriented writing, and nothing is too violent or gory or sexually aggressive. You can reread  it if you want and see for yourself.

Which leads me to the main point: going forward, I'm going to make future chapters follow along with the guidelines (or edit commissions so that they comply), but that I also don't think this should be any cause for major concern. Like I mentioned, the actions themselves are fine, so all the plans and details from my outlines are all still gonna happen, I'm just going to make sure any other commissions or stories with a brother/sister dynamic (or cousin/cousin, I had a stepmom/stepson request, things like that etc) will be in line with the site's rules. Personally, I don't think it's a huge deal, and obviously it's not like that's the only thing I write anyways--when I polled you all about future story ideas a few weeks ago (there were 12 total, and only 2 involved family scenarios), the most-picked was for a babysitter foot fetish fantasy thing, and of course plenty of enthusiasm for several of the other ones, so it sounds like you all wouldn't mind that much either. I did have one fan who I know got a real kick out of every time I'd mention the sibling relationship in another story; so like, sorry to them I guess lol.

Anyways from here on out I'll answer any questions I thought people may ask, and ofc you can ask me anything in the comments if you want.

Can't you just edit the problematic posts? Why worry about future ones?
Yes, I could. And I know a writer who did that, they only edited what they were told to, and then unsurprisingly they got emailed some time later when future installments continued with the issue at questions. Because again, it's not just that post that was a problem, that was just the only one they referenced. It's a side-wide rule.

Can't you just post "safe" versions on your page, but then send DM's with the "real" versions?
For one, that's too much hassle for me to do with every post lmao, and two, sending DM's on here is still using an element of Patreon, so it's still against the community guidelines.

Can't you just make them step-siblings instead of blood related?
As far as I'm concerned, and probably Patreon too, they're the same thing. I know several people in real life with step siblings, I don't consider them any less brothers and sisters than "real" ones. Like, the reason why 1ncest is gross isn't cuz of genetics, it's cuz that's your family member. If you had one step-sibling you knew since you two were kids, and one who you didn't meet until you were an adult but was technically blood-related, who's gonna feel more like the relative? The one you grew up with!

But other creators have brother/sister stuff!
Yeah, I know. And some of them are pretty big and some of them do it a lot. I don't know why they get a pass, but it doesn't matter. I'm applying this change because of an email I received, and I don't wanna receive the email again. Someone getting away with a crime doesn't give you a pass to commit it too.

Why not use OnlyFans, or SubscribeStar, or another subscription platform?
OnlyFans takes 20%, Patreon takes 8%, so I'd be losing several hundred dollars a month if everyone transferred over, which I know they wouldn't, because I'm pretty sure OnlyFans has fewer payment options and/or is available in less countries. SubscribeStar seems neat, but I got approved for a page last year and found it really hard to format and edit text posts, which is like my whole thing lol. But I guess it's not prohibitive. But also a lot of people don't know what SubscribeStar even is, and last I polled my audience, a significant number would only wanna use Patreon. So for now, I'll stay here.

What if I want to commission you for a story that might break Patreon's guidelines?
Going forward, clients will receive "original" copies and if needed, I'll edit things for Patreon. The vast majority of my commissions have been through email, and a few on Discord. Since those are private conversations, not held through Patreon, and not funded through Patreon (that's a key part of their guidelines I think), then they're essentially fine. As far as anyone on Patreon, staff or user, can publicly or privately see, stories will follow guidelines; there wouldn't be any discernable difference between a story that was originally written about a pair of friends, and one that a client wanted about some cousins, for example, that I later edited to be about some friends.

Why is this impacting the monthly exclusive?
You're right, since that story is about a man and his daughter's friend, then technically it should be fine. Obviously risqué, that's part of its popularity, but doesn't seem to be rule breaking. The daughter's in the story, but nothing sexual happens with her, but as mentioned, I'm being cautious until I can get my page cleared with Patreon, and I've also been busy editing posts tonight to make sure things comply, so that's taken absolute priority over any other writing. The writing's actually done, I was just in the proofreading phase. So theoretically, if I could get cleared tomorrow or Friday, then you guys will be able to read it this weekend, and since you'll receive a copy via DM you don't have to worry about downloading it in time. Even if it's just a couple bucks, I would literally feel so bad for skipping out on a month lol.

I used to work at chipotle (it was just over the summer but still!), and that shit sucked lol, so as I like to mention very very often, I feel very very fortunate and grateful to have the opportunity that I do to write things for yall. Even with the stress of deadlines or annoyance of writing things that don't interest me, it's still a great gig to have. I've been able to pay for my college, and the total I make through Patreon, commissions, and Gumroad is just enough that I'll be able to move out when I graduate next year. Which is why I'm keen on keeping a rule-abiding page, and luckily I think I'm at the point where I don't think it'll be a huge issue anyways. The characters names will all be the same and the weird and kinky shenanigans they find themselves in will be the same, I'm just gonna make sure to avoid phrasing that might be problematic. Luckily, in stories that have skirted the rules, the characters' relationship has never really been like a structural element of the plot, so going back and using ctrl+f to find and edit  terms like "sister" or "brother" won't really change anything. I know sibling stuff is weirdly (creepily?) popular and yadda yadda but oh well, use your imagination from now on lol.

That was a lot of words ok it took like an hour and a half to write lol. Let me know if you have any other questions though, and thanks for the patience!

the second one. since that story's a commission i kinda cant change the way the client wants it written, i'll just have to edit some of the wording before posting here

So how is this going to effect masons story ? Are you going to act like they aren't even family or are you just going to not mention their relationships to each other but they will still act as family? Goddamn just writing that confused me lol hope you get it

pink panther

lol i think so too. it might have just been that a troll tried to report me, cuz the post they referenced was months old so its not something they'd just randomly come across.

It was inevitable. Pateron can be soooo finicky on what they decide breaks TOS. While the change sucks, I completely understand. Your realistic scenarios, and dialogue is that main reason I enjoy you stories.

InfectedKH

Don't worry, I won't do that. I understand doing that won't do anything good and will bring harm instead. Anyways I don't really have much against patreon, I just feel that the warning was alittle weird as your stories should be considered quite mild in my opinion

i harbor no ill will against them! lol. if people wanna be upset then i understand i suppose, but patreon has a public image they wanna maintain and i understand that. they obviously have a very different reputation than onlyfans, even though onlyfans has plenty of all-ages, non-sex-work-related creators, so i understand where they're coming from :) P.S. plz dont write to them and get angry on my behalf that wouldn't look good on my part.

Tldr;patreon is being biased
