2016-09-26 23:53:01 +0000 UTCNormally, we'd cleave to 5e design standards in save-or-die cases. But you're probably already doomed when the Old One appears, and "save vs. death" has a much more visceral effect—in this editor's opinion.

2016-09-26 18:14:32 +0000 UTCLooks very interesting! Loving the eldritch Cabin in the Woods vibe. My only critique is the "Save or Die" mechanic of the Larval Old One's Devour ability; I can't think of a single other Save-or-Die in 5e (though may well be wrong). Seems to have fallen out of design favour and is generally replaced with "Take XdX damage. If you are reduced to 0 hit points by this, you die." which is how I might run it to give them a potential chance. Maybe have them take it every turn but give them a chance to escape. Otherwise, love it.
