Into the Feywild (Issue #100!)

It's a big day - our 100th issue! Thank you so much to all our patrons who have enabled us to produce all this wonderful stuff, and give a whole bunch of new writers and artists a start in the industry. Here's to 100 more!

To celebrate, this issue, a 15-page adventure by Kiel Chenier, is COMPLETELY FREE! Into the Feywild is a 5E adventure for characters of 1st-5th level. The adventurers are trapped in a strange land - can they find their way home? And can they navigate the labyrinthine Hedgegrove, domain of Princess Daneliean Dandelion?  Illustrated by Egil Thompson.

My party loved this adventure so, so much. It's fun and flexible and gives you lots of chances to let your players determine the direction of the story. In particular, if you're comfortable tweaking the storyline based on the random roll events, it can take you to some really strange and exciting places that can absolutely resonate with your players. My party got the event where the noble tries to trick you into poisoning the princess and leaned into the questline hard, so I ran with it. They investigated the Princess' enemies and eventually uncovered part of a grand murder plot. One of them swore their souls into the Princess' service. They missed some clues, though, and at the soiree assassins attacked. A pitched battle came down to the wire, but in the end the Princess was slain and they were sent back to the material plane in shame and sorrow. It's been almost five levels since then, but the events of this campaign continue to inform their decisions in- and out-of-character. I can't wait to run another group through this and see where the adventure leads this time!

The random tables alone are incredible. The adventure is great, too, but I'll be re-using these tables!

If you are comfortable improvising and roleplaying, this is one of the best and easiest modules to run. The charts are amazing, hilarious and lead to some truly great moments. I needed very little prep time which was much appreciated. I think my players will remember this session fondly for a long time.

While you are free to share with your children whatever you choose, we do not agree with the statement that people of any ethnicity, gender, gender-identity, gender preference, race, or any other personal attributes are unsuitable for children.

The adventure is really good! But the trans and bi things are really not appropriate for children so there should be a disclaimer.

A little review for an awesome adventure! This adventure should actually take a relatively short time to prepare. There are not walls of text to decipher; the information is all presented in bite-sized chunks. Furthermore, the presentation of the quests is very attractive to me because it seems a little bit more adaptive, "open world," and suitable to be spread across multiple short sessions. If you like the work of the Brothers Grimm, then you will dig this adventure. It is DARK! One of my favorite things are the random "trade requests," where the fey bargain the mortals for anything from a drop of blood to "A passionate kiss from someone whose heart belongs to another." I think what makes this article great is that many of the scenarios are simultaneously silly and acutely troubling.

This is awesome! Thanks! I am restarting my Moon Shea Isle campaign soon and this will fit perfectly into it.
