Over the Next Hill: Village of Dreams

Halloween month continues with Josh Gentry's Village of Dreams. Natulog is a sleepy hamlet, but the thick evening fogs deliver messages through the dreams of those who rest there. Part of the Over the Next Hill series, this plug-in settlement includes significant areas, notes on dream reading, and rumors and plot hooks suitable for all character levels. Illustrated/cartography by Michael Tumey.

I'm always looking for an adventure to run when I don't have all of my players present. This seems like a great little town for them to visit, and I don't have to feel like I'm railroading them into a set adventure. :)

Oops. I hit enter on last post. Obviously can't do that. ;) This village has a not little hook, an intriguing location and some easy to follow personalities. I don't think I like the large rumour/encounter charts either. Is it a requirement to assign levels to these. I think some juicy rumours would be enough to spark GMs' imaginations. Good work on the actual village though. So easy to drop in. And I really liked the 3D(like?) map. In fact, I like that a lot. It is very hard to picture elevation and changes of it when describing a settlement. Kudos Josh.

I have all of these, but I have not read them. (Haven't had a need to as yet). But, I found some time to check what this series is about. i was expecting a lot more detail to be honest, but I was glad there was not too much. Some of the 'home viallages' in some of the starting modules I have read recently (been using Sandpoint from RotR for eg) has so much info and backstory it is very hard to keep track of everything.
