Just as an FYI, the big bad said they were "incorporeal," meaning they exist without a body. They can appear in multiple places at once, and as any person/demon who has died (including those who died and were later resurrected or vampires) though some are off limits (extremely good humans) and are protected by the Buffy-verse gods while in heaven. Thus why Tara never appears.
