I saw this when I was about 13 or 14. Right after watching it I had to walk down the road to a friend's house. All I could do, the entire time was notice how many birds were on the telephone wires. I think I ran most of the way. To this day birds still creep me out. Now you all know why I can't watch anything too scary. I'm just such a chicken.

This was based on a short story by Daphne du Maurier (also the author of the novel Hitchcock based "Rebecca" on), and she purposely left the reasons vague as well. du Maurier was brilliant with tension. It's no surprise that Hitchcock was so drawn to her work; I just wish she got her fair share of the credit.

And Cathy was Angela Cartwright, who grew up to be Lambert in "Alien"!

You've seen Jessica Tandy before. She was Mrs. Threadgoode in Fried Green Tomatoes.

The fisherman who rents her the boat is played by Doodles Weaver. No reason you should remember him, but he is the uncle of one of your favorite Weavers. Guess who.
