This is a really complicated season, and these episodes really highlight that for me. It gets *dark,* emotionally dark, in a way the show never did - I mean Buffy is facing CPS and we just watched a whole episode about incels murdering someone while trying to rape her. And we also had the musical episode, and the forgetting episode... There's a lot of good in here, but man, this season can give you tonal whiplash.
