true, but when push came to shove, he didn't (and never would've) told Glory about Dawn. He'd NEVER hurt Buffy that way. Did he deserve a beating for having the sexbot, sure. And I think the Riley stake was just to show Spike that Riley *could* (and would) stake him and not lose sleep over it, but he wouldn't because Buffy felt sorry for Spike because of the chip.

I can't say I'm a fan, per se, of the ending. This whole season really strains the logic behind not killing Spike; not the least for which after he how things went down at the end of season 4. But they're constantly tap dancing around it, when by all rights they should have dusted him.
Riley goes to the trouble getting a stake made of realistic looking plastic wood grain to stake him with - for whose benefit...?
There's no reason to have left him standing after the whole thing with Dru.
And now this. He made a fucking sexbot that looks and "acts" like Buffy. That goes beyond the pale of obscene
