EARLY ACCESS: Independence Day Resurgence

So.... y'all remember when I said I "saw a title and I just HAD to watch it"...?

I regret my choice and that is why I listen to you.

EARLY ACCESS: Independence Day Resurgence

Dear Ashleigh, not exactly on topic but in general for you young reactors: To get perspective of the time spans involved and the overlap with living people: I was born in 1955 The last AMERICAN CIVIL WAR veteran Albert Henry Woolson died August 2, 1956 The last SPANISH-AMERICAN WAR veteran Jones Morgan died August 29, 1993 The last WORLD WAR 1 veteran, Frank Buckles died February 27, 2011 Many WORLD WAR 2 veterans are still alive Many KOREAN WAR veterans are still alive Many VIETNAM WAR veterans are still alive Many MIDDLE EAST WARS and BRUSH WARS veterans are still alive WORLD WAR 2 – An uncle was in the Battle of the Bulge, my friend’s father stormed Omaha Beach (and survived), my high school biology teacher had been a marine in the South Pacific Theater (probably many of my teachers, but they never mentioned it), my supervisor for a college job had been a Hitler Youth and Luftwaffe glider pilot...a co-worker on the same crew was a Polish lady who still had 3 bullet hole scars where Germans had machine gunned her and left her for dead. Subsequent wars; worked with, worked for, was friends with, and knew/know many. So the events you see in your war movies and TV shows are not ancient history like the pyramids. They are alive in the memories of living persons, either from personal experience or being told first hand. I recommend you find and talk to some of them if you can. The same can be said for the based-on-true-events SPACE shows (Apollo 13, etc). I’m also older than the first satellite and cosmonaut/astronaut, and space is sooo interesting. As an Old Guy who went to school BEFORE the Department of Education was created, I blame the appalling ignorance of young reactors on your horrible schooling. It is always possible to teach yourself, however, if you’re willing to put a little effort into it. Believe me, it’s worthwhile.

This movie was a HUGE let down. And I'm still sad about it.

I paid to see this movie in a theater and remember not one single thing about it.
