'Making money hand over fist" is a pretty straightforward expression. You're reaching out with one open hand to except money, which closes - becoming a fist; the other hand goes out, open, accepting money, closes to fist, etc., etc., so on and so forth. Somewhere in the midst of that, your fists are dropping the money you're dropping or depositing the money you already took, so it can be open to accept more...

This show has made me cry but the first time it ever gave me goosebumps was when the monk told Buffy about the true nature of Dawn. And when Buffy goes home and strokes Dawn's hair and the way Sarah looks at Michelle...😭😭😭
