Joe Don Baker who played the head policeman played Buford Pusser in Walking Tall back in the 70s . It's worth a watch too. Also Fletch 2 is worth a watch. Very entertaining review. Thank you for doing it for us Ashleigh. I know you don't hear it enough.

2025-05-31 17:44:09 +0000 UTCThe comedy is great but what makes the movie work is that it is played against a legitimate mystery thriller. The plot could have been played entirely straight as a film noir with Humphrey Bogart (who wasn't available) in the lead. I much prefer this sort of thing to a succession of jokes loosely held together with a thin plot. Yes, it was a complicated story but that is the way of good mysteries.
