So, this is a weird story, but when I was 25, I was working the graveyard shift in this 24-hour adult video store/sex shop on Melrose Ave, and in walks this guy in an official cast/crew jacket for Angel. I chat about being a fan of the show for a minute, then I ring him up, and I see his name on the computer, and it's ANDY HALLETT. And I'm like, "Dude, I loved you on Angel. Didn't recognize you without the green makeup and horns!" And we laughed about it. He came in again about a week later, we chatted some more, and this time he spilled some behing-the-scenes tea on which Buffyverse actors didn't get along (which I won't repeat here). He was also a little drunk and referred to Brokeback Mountain as Bareback Mountain, which made me laugh really hard considering where we were and the fact that it was likely the actual name of the porn parody, though I've never confirmed this. The last time he came in, he had his laptop with him and he told me someone sent him this really weird video, so of course I demanded to see it, and he showed me. And it was in fact deeply weird. Legal, but weird. The kind of kink where you just say, "Wow, there really is something for EVERYONE." When it was over, we looked at each other and shrugged. And that's how, at roughly 3:00 in the morning one night in 2006, I ended up watching one of the weirdest pornographic clips I've ever seen, side by side with none other than Andy freaking Hallett. That's Hollywood for you.
