Even If, for the sake of argument, season 4 is the weakest of the entire series, that doesn't mean it's not great in and of itself.

Remember when Faith said slaying makes her hungry and horny? We definitely got to see the horny side in this episode. lol 🥵 Woo weee. Season 4 isn’t my favorite, but it’s not my least favorite. It has its good and bad moments and it’s always an adjustment when a show changes to a new location (college), new characters, etc. No meetings in the library anymore, certain familiar things from the first 3 seasons. I’m still rewatching it with you so it’s not like I’m bored of Buffy after 28 years. Lol It will always be one of my favorite shows that I grew up with. 💜

The problem with this season, for me, is the big bad. When you asked “what was the point of making him?” you hit the nail on the head. Maybe it’s making a point about science and governmental overreach and ethics…. ? But then they kill professor Walsh and don’t really explore that. I heard the actress got another part and wanted to leave the show so they just killed the character really fast. If she hadn’t left, maybe they would have gone a little deeper with the questions of her motivation. And Adam himself doesn’t really seem to have any motivation for what he does either. But Buffy is like sex. Even when it’s bad it’s still pretty good.
TLDR: Adam is dumb.
