This came out the year I graduated high school. It's always a favorite!

Jill Peterson

Beth Brown

Damn. Sadly this is only available to rent or buy on Amazon now.

Greg Davis (YT-nobody you need to know)

I love this movie.. thanks for watching.. Im surprised you didnt catch who played Garry tho.. that was Joaquin Phoenix... also this is one of those movies where it predicts a future movie for the actor.. Steve Martin says to his wife.. lets have a dozen and call em donuts.. as you know Steve Martin was in Cheaper by the Dozen and the sequel. Great reaction to this.. especially the line about men.. they all say they love you and then they c**... And also the line about fathers.. they'll let any butt wheming a**hole be a father. Very true.

I would also hope that one could distinguish my reply in a movie reaction and my reply in real life

Ashleigh Burton

nope. I didn't have a lot of friends and didn't grow up around house that were not my family as well - there was 17 years between me and first cousins

Ashleigh Burton

I love your reactions, Ashleigh, but could I make a suggestion? I know that, as a reactor, you're supposed to be reacting. That's the whole point, after all. However, whenever two characters are arguing, if you respond to everything that one character says, you won't hear the response of the other character. In this movie in particular, the back-and-forth exchanges of the characters arguing are very important. Anyway, thanks very much for reacting to this one. Far too few reactors have seen it. P.S. If your kid says, "I need money or they'll kill me," and you respond with "well, too bad," I would hope that you would regret those words during your child's funeral. It's easy to be a hard ass when it's not your own child whose life is at risk.

Wally Hartshorn

You asked why there are so may kids in the house. I know you grew up in the rural South. So did I. Did you not have community houses? They're usually formed through friendships at church. It's just a bunch of parents taking turns babysitting each others kids. I had so many community houses, I'm not even sure if the parents I have are the ones I started with. I'm pretty sure that at some point, one of the moms said, "You left four, so you take four. Pick which ones look like yours." It was a great way to grow up.
