One of my big problems with this episode was the Parker/Willow scenes. They had Willow really go hard on the "You men do this, you men do that", She's had no history with that and Buffy has had it all of one time; it felt unearned. If she had stayed more focused on Parker, "You do this and you do that", it wouldn't have felt so out of place.

2025-04-03 02:51:30 +0000 UTCIronically, many fans cite Beer Bad as one of the worst episodes of Buffy largely because it was felt it was done to court $$ (This plot was written with the plan to take advantage of funds from the Office of National Drug Control Policy, available to shows that promoted an anti-drug message which was a very popular late 90s/early 00s thing - funny enough it didn't get it due to the supernatural elements). I think there are some positives to it but on the whole I tend to skip it more often than not. The writing just feels too simple and surface level and the plot didn't try to go the whole way, I mean the bartender who did the entire ordeal basically got 1 scene and no comeuppance?
